Job Description MS Access Developer with VBA and SQL Server

Position Description
We're currently hiring an MS Access Developer with VBA and SQL Server experience, to join our financial services team in Herndon, VA. This is an exciting full-time opportunity to participate in a massive technology replacement. Your future duties and responsibilities
In this role, you will be client facing with everyday interaction with Business teams to analyze requirements and develop solutions that align with the SDLC process. The successful candidate should be able communicate very well and work independently with minimum supervision. Candidates who have working experience with Agile Methodology are preferred (not a must).


Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- Perform requirement analysis and create Solution Specifications
- Conduct high-level design session with the development team
- Perform impact assessment, identify design impacts to the application and provide suggestion/guidance
- Review and provide guidance for User Acceptance test cases and support testing efforts
- Maintain application code developed in MS Access, VBA, MS SQL Server
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production for the applications that are supported.

Technical Skills include:
-6yrs+ hands-on experience in the software development life cycle
- Experience gathering requirements, develop solution and implementation
- Able to maintain applications in MS Access and MS SQL Server
- Experience writing functions and procedures in MS Access, MS SQL Server, and VBA
- Capable of creating dynamic MS Access Pass-through queries to Oracle
- Ability to implement Access 2010 table-level triggers and experience creating custom MS Access ribbon bars
- SQL Server skills including T-SQL, Stored Procs, Triggers, Views, User Defined functions
- Background in Dynamic SQL, Query optimization and debugging, SSIS, Linked Oracle Servers, SSRS
- Experience troubleshooting application issues and provide directions to resolve them
- Experience in relational data model and design
- Most recent 2yrs of experience should be in MS Access and MS SQL Server
- Experience in Oracle DB and PL/SQL is a plus
- Experience in applications working in Citrix environment is a plus but not required

Bachelor Degree or Equivalent
