Job Description Accounting Supervisor

Education
CGA/CMA/CA preferred, or close to completion, or equivalent education and work experience.

Experience
Must have 1-3 years experience with full cycle accounting and bookkeeping in a multi-entity and multi-currency
environment.
Experience with GST, WCB and other government remittance.
Experience with auditing; month and year end reports.
Experience with monitoring and reconciling multi accounts; and manage all aspects of compliance reports.
Experience in coaching junior staff and regional site Finance Team as required.


Knowledge
Knowledge of SIGA's guiding principles, structure, and First Nations culture.
Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, AccPac, and JD Edwards (or similar enterprise software).
Knowledge of accounting principles and theories (GAAP and/or IFRS), with strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting duties.
Knowledge of standard office procedures and equipment.

Condition of Employment
Must consent to a background check in order to qualify as a gaming employee
Must obtain and maintain a gaming employee Certificate of Registration from the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA)
Must be 19 years of age or older

Irregular hours including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays

Main Duties
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position focuses on risk mitigation and accountability, by providing thorough and accurate reconciliation and reporting of Casino financial transactions. Responsibilities include: Auditing and verifying information from cash-handling Casino departments and functions – daily, weekly, or as otherwise scheduled. Responding to departmental inquiries regarding processes that impact Finance functions. Assisting with overseeing Casino purchasing processes. Assisting the Finance Manager with staffing and performance management. Maintaining all related electronic and paper files and record systems. Handling other related tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager.
