Job Description Slot Supervisor

Education
Successful completion of Grade 12 or GED or a combination of relevant education, training and/or experience.

Experience
Experience in a casino slots department, minimum of one year or combination of relevant training.
Experience assisting with recruitment, training, coaching and scheduling of staff while in a supervisory role.


Knowledge
Knowledge of SIGA's guiding principles, structure, and First Nations culture.
Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn additional programs as required.
Knowledge of slot operations and diagnostics.


Skills and Abilities
Ability to exercise judgement regarding day-to-day priorities and situations.
Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with other departments and units.
Ability to effectively supervise others to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
Ability to quickly and effectively troubleshoot slot equipment problems.
Ability to support change with optimism and openness.
Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, in both written and verbal form.
Ability to support and engage employees to provide exceptional customer service/hospitality.
Ability to facilitate progress toward team or unit goals, by promoting accountability and alignment among team members.

Condition of Employment
Must consent to a background check in order to qualify as a gaming employee
Must obtain and maintain a gaming employee Certificate of Registration from the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA)
Must be 19 year of age or older

Irregular hours including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
Could be exposed to tobacco smoke and high noise levels
Congested workplace
Strict dress code
Standing/Walking (continual except for breaks)
Keyboarding/Coordination of fine motor control (when using a computer to prepare reports)
Lifting/Pushing/Pulling (up to 100lbs, with assistance, when moving slot machines)



Main Duties
Reporting to the Slot Manager, this position ensures that Casino guests have an exceptional entertainment experience by supervising Slot department staff and activities. Responsibilities include: Monitoring Slot operations and ensuring compliance with Slot department regulations and procedures. Assisting department management with staffing and performance management. Carrying out a wide variety of administrative tasks as directed by the Slot Manager. Creating, distributing and revising staff schedules to meet operational needs and control costs. Serving shifts as the Manager on Duty on a rotational schedule. Participating in other projects and activities as required, to ensure the Casino’s slot players have an exceptional entertainment experience.
