Job Description Workability Case Management Specialist

Education
4 year University degree in Kinesiology, Physical Therapy, Industrial/Rehabilitation Medicine, or related discipline, or a relevant combination of education, training and/or experience. Certified Return to Work Coordinator (CRTW) or Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP) certification is considered an asset.

Experience
Experience with WCB/insurer processes.
Experience with physical demands assessments, interpretation of medical information with respect to job demands.
Experience with Claims/Disability Management an asset.
Experience working with insurers, employees, management, and medical practitioners.
Experience with program development and project management.


Knowledge
Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook, with the ability to learn additional programs as required.
Working knowledge of labour legislation (SLSA, OH&S, SHRC, WBC).
Knowledge of First Nations-specific legislation and regulations is a strong asset.
Knowledge of SIGA's policies, operating procedures, position demands, and work environment.
Knowledge of SIGA's guiding principles, structure, and First Nations culture.

Condition of Employment
Must consent to a background check in order to qualify as a gaming employee
Must obtain and maintain a gaming employee Certificate of Registration from the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA)
Must be 19 years of age or older
Standard office environment
Must possess valid Saskatchewan Driver's License and acceptable driving record

Main Duties
Reporting to the Benefits Manager, this position focuses on maintaining the healthy productivity of SIGA’s workforce, by providing the expertise, leadership, and direct assistance required to support employees to stay at work, and to support the timely and appropriate return to work of employees absent due to illness or injury.

Responsibilities include: Coordinating training and communication initiatives relating to medical absence management processes, policies, and regulations; coordinating incident investigation reports and procedures, records and statistics management; acting as a resource/advisor to management and Human Resources on WCB and long-term disability processes and requirements, including claims management. Developing and implementing a stay-at-work/return-to-work/accommodation program, to facilitate the productive return of injured/ill SIGA employees.; and participating in other projects as required, to meet the overall goals of facilitating stay-at-work/return-to-work, complying with regulations, and meeting SIGA’s obligations regarding workplace accommodation.
