Education Combination of relevant education, training and/or experience. Successful completion of Food Safe Handling Certificate.
Experience Experience working in a commercial kitchen would be preferred. Experience working with diverse situations and personalities.
Knowledge Knowledge of SIGA’s guiding principles, structure and First Nations culture. Knowledge of First Nations culture, values, beliefs, traditions and protocols. Knowledge of food and beverage operations. Knowledge of safe food handling practices.

Condition of Employment Must consent to a background check in order to qualify as a gaming employee Must obtain and maintain a gaming employee Certificate of Registration from the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) Must be 19 years of age or older
Other Information Irregular hours including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays Could be exposed to tobacco smoke, high noise levels and sharp objects Steam/Heat/Moisture (dishwasher, boiling water, hot pans and plates up to 500F) Chemical substances (cleaners, detergents) Congested workplace Slippery floors Standing/Walking (continual except for breaks) Repetitive motion/Coordination of fine or coarse movements (food preparation, knife skills) Lifting (up to 50 lbs)
Main Duties Reporting to the Executive Chef and under the supervision of the Kitchen Supervisor, this position supports the delivery of quality, value priced dining, by efficiently prepping a wide variety of cooking ingredients. Responsibilities include: Assisting in the preparation of meals by maintaining supplies of prepped ingredients and dish components. Assembling entrées from pre-prepared components, and preparing baked goods. Carrying out general cleaning and kitchen maintenance. Working effectively as part of a team, to ensure the safe and efficient preparation of food. Strictly following established processes and standards for safe food production and handling. Handling other related tasks as required, to support the production of quality meals for Casino guests.
Probationary Statement EXTERNAL NEW HIRES ONLY: Upon completion of your probationary period, your salary will be $13.59 per hour, less applicable statutory deductions.
