Job Description Operations Manager (Food & Beverage)

SIGA is currently looking for creative, motivated, passionate, and energetic individuals to join our team.


Education
Successful completion of a bachelor's degree in an administrative discipline such as Business, Education, Public Relations, Organizational Management or a degree in hospitality and or diploma in hotel / restaurant management.
Several successful years of directly related Food & Beverage experience may be considered.


Experience
Minimum of five years of Food & Beverage managerial experience is required.
Must have experience in motivating, training and working effectively with subordinates who have a variety of backgrounds and training.
Must have extensive experience in overseeing large Food & Beverage operations that include restaurant, bar, deli, kitchen, catering and events.
Strong experience in culinary, mixology and front of house service skills.
Experience in overseeing franchised Food & Beverage outlets as well as in house restaurant and deli operations.
Experience with Food & Beverage POS systems and Food & Beverage equipment.


Knowledge
Knowledge of SIGA's guiding principles, structure, and First Nations culture.
Knowledge of budgeting and human resources processes, policies, and best practices.
Knowledge of SIGA's corporate policies and procedures.
Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Knowledge of legislated statutory health and liquor laws.

Ability to maintain an excellent rapport with both food and liquor vendors.
Ability to manage and coordinate monthly inventories for all consumables.

Condition of Employment
Must consent to a background check in order to qualify as a gaming employee
Must obtain and maintain a gaming employee Certificate of Registration from the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA)
Must be 19 years of age or older

Valid Saskatchewan Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
Irregular hours including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
Could be exposed to tobacco smoke and high noise levels

Main Duties
Reporting to the General Manager, this position focuses on operational effectiveness, by providing effective oversight of Food & Beverage operations. Responsibilities include: Monitoring Food & Beverage operations to ensure overall integrity, and compliance with policies and procedures. Ensuring proper oversight and management of Food & Beverage financial activities. Developing business plans and budgets, with focus on revenue forecasting and projects. Providing effective direction to Food & Beverage Management staff, promoting good relationships and ensuring they have the knowledge and tools they need to succeed. Handling escalated patron and staff complaints. Developing strong and positive relationships internally and externally, including maintaining a visible presence in the community. Ensuring effective flow of communication to, from, and between all departments. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of best practices in Food & Beverage operations, through on-going research and training. Serving shifts as the Manager on Duty on a rotational schedule. Modeling SIGA’s values, and serving as a positive representative of SIGA. Participating in other projects and activities as required, in support of Food & Beverage operations.
