Job Description Surveillance Operator

Education
Successful completion of a Grade 12 or GED diploma or a combination of relevant education, training and/or experience.

Experience
Experience providing customer service and working with many diverse situations and personalities.
Previous gaming or surveillance experience would be an asset.


Knowledge
Knowledge of SIGA's guiding principles, structure, and First Nations culture.
Knowledge of the rules and procedures for casino games.


Skills and Abilities
Ability to support change with optimism and openness.
Ability to select the appropriate communication methods and tools, depending on the audience and situation.
Ability to consistently provide friendly, timely, and accurate client service.
Ability to exercise judgement regarding day-to-day priorities and situations.

Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with other departments and units.
Ability to be discreet in handling confidential information.
Ability to correctly use digital surveillance equipment.

Condition of Employment
Must consent to a background check in order to qualify as a gaming employee
Must obtain and maintain a gaming employee Certificate of Registration from the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA)
Must be 19 years of age or older



Other Information
Irregular hours including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
Standard office environment
Sitting (2hrs at a time)
Maintaining one position (2hrs at a time)
Keyboarding/Coordination of fine motor control (computer terminals, preparing reports)
Full-color spectrum vision
Observing people/Viewing equipment or instruments (continual except for breaks)



Main Duties
Reporting to the Surveillance Manager and under the supervision of the Surveillance Supervisor, this position focuses on risk mitigation, monitoring Casino operations and cash transactions to ensure the protection of Casino and guest property, assets, and information. Responsibilities include: Observing and recording daily operations in all areas of the Casino and property. Keeping complete written and visual records. Maintaining knowledge of all Casino policies and procedures, to enable detection of irregularities. Ensuring that communication flows smoothly between Surveillance and other departments. Handling other tasks as required, to protect the integrity of the Casino’s operations and assets.


Probationary Statement
EXTERNAL NEW HIRES ONLY: Upon completion of your probationary period, your salary will be $15.63 per hour, less applicable statutory deductions.
