Job Description IT Analyst - Server/Network

Education
Successful completion of a post-secondary diploma program in a related technical field such as Computer Systems Technology. A current certification in at least two of the following competencies: CompTIA, VMware, Microsoft, Cisco, Veeam.

Experience
5+ years’ experience within an enterprise IT environment.
Advanced knowledge of VMware virtualization, Windows Server roles and features, data protection systems (backup, replication and disaster recovery), Microsoft Exchange, networking concepts, and enterprise-class hardware (blade and rack servers, storage arrays and SANs).
Experience with VMware AirWatch, Microsoft Exchange 2016 and Cisco unified communications would be considered an asset


Knowledge
Knowledge of SIGA’s mission, vision, guiding principles and business values.
Knowledge of First Nations culture, values, beliefs, traditions and protocols.
Current technical knowledge of: VMware vSphere and Site Recovery Manager, Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2, Active Directory environments, Veeam Backup & Replication, Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013, Cisco routing and switching.
Knowledge of administering, maintaining, and supporting the following solutions; anti-virus/malware, email security/spam filtering, network load balancing, client-server and enterprise software applications running on Microsoft SQL.
Knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting connectivity over wired and wireless networks, through VLANs as well as routing and firewall rules.
Knowledge of performance monitoring, security hardening, log analysis tools and techniques.


Skills and Abilities
Ability to research, recommend, and effectively implement operational changes referencing industry best practises, vendor documentation, internal policies and procedures and utilize change management processes.
Ability to set priorities to manage multiple tasks and projects with a strong attention to detail and organization.
Ability to select the appropriate communication methods and tools, depending on the audience and situation using both technical and user-friendly language.
Ability to consistently provide friendly, timely, and accurate client service.
Ability to mentor peers and support a collaborative workplace culture.
Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with other departments and business units.

Condition of Employment
Must consent to a background check in order to qualify as a gaming employee.
Must obtain and maintain a gaming employee Certificate of Registration from the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA)
Must be 19 years of age or older

Must be willing to travel for operational needs
Possession of a valid driver’s license would be an asset
Ability to lift up to 20 kg.
Required to work outside of regular business hours as needed.
Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.

Main Duties
The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority is a technology-driven, progressive organization where IT systems interact annually with over 4 million guests and staff. SIGA is seeking an individual who is experienced with analysis, design and planning coupled with hands-on experience administering complex IT solutions to join the IT Operations team.
Responsibilities include: Participating and working in collaboration with the project management office and IT management on projects and initiatives as required. Troubleshooting and collaborating to resolve problems relating to server, network, storage, hardware, software, and systems. Carrying out a wide variety of system maintenance and management activities to ensure system privacy, security, and regulatory compliance. Contributing to the development of system documentation and procedures. Reporting to the Senior Technical Analyst, this position supports and contributes to operational efficiency by configuring, managing, monitoring, maintaining and supporting the IT infrastructure to ensure high levels of availability and system integrity. The successful candidate will be joining a growing team where you will directly contribute to a number of new and exciting projects ranging from technical upgrades, solution refreshes, the introduction of new tools and software, the development of an end user computing/mobile device management solution as well as supporting a number of business led projects.
