Job Description Valet Attendant

Education
Successful completion of a Grade 12 or GED diploma or a combination of relevant education, training and/or experience.

Experience
Previous experience in guest or transportation services would be preferred.
Experience in Hotel or Casino valet services is an asset.


Knowledge
Knowledge of SIGA's guiding principles, structure, and First Nations culture.
Knowledge of the gaming, hospitality, customer service (or related) industry.
Knowledge of vehicle maintenance requirements, transportation standards, vehicle safety, and related procedures.


Skills and Abilities

Condition of Employment
Must consent to a background check in order to qualify as a gaming employee
Must obtain and maintain a gaming employee Certificate of Registration from the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA)
Must be 19 year of age or older
Must possess valid Saskatchewan Driver’s License and acceptable driving record



Other Information
Irregular hours including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
Inclement weather (rain, heat, cold, wind/dust)
Could be exposed to tobacco smoke and high noise levels
Standing (continual except for breaks)
Walking (continual except for breaks)
Running (required upon guest departure, to retrieve vehicle promptly)
Bending/Working in awkward positions (getting in and out of guest vehicles)



Main Duties
Reporting to the Guest Services Coordinator, and under the supervision of the Guest Services Supervisor, this position provides convenient service to SIGA’s guests, and builds good relations (Miyo-wîchêtowin) by ensuring that guests’ vehicles are safely and quickly parked and retrieved. Responsibilities include: Parking and retrieving guests’ vehicles safely and quickly, adhering to valet procedures. Maintaining accurate records of guests, vehicles, keys, supplies, and guest/vehicle incidents. Greeting guests on arrival, and thanking them on departure, in a warm and welcoming manner. Responding to general inquiries and requests for assistance. Participating in other activities as required, in support of Guest Services.


Probationary Statement
EXTERNAL NEW HIRES ONLY: Upon completion of your probationary period, your salary will be $13.87 per hour, less applicable statutory deductions.
