Job Description Senior Technical Services Technician

Education
Successful completion of a two-year post secondary diploma course in a related technical field such as Computer Information Systems. Current certifications in two of the following areas: MCDST, MCT, MCP MCSE, MCSA.

Experience
Three years’ experience working in a desktop support environment, developing and implementing enterprise desktop management solutions, including desktop image creation, software packaging, and patch management.

Knowledge
Knowledge of SIGA’s mission, vision, guiding principles and business values.
Knowledge of First Nations culture, values, beliefs, traditions and protocols.
Knowledge to provide 2nd tier support to resolve escalated technical issues.
Current technical knowledge of Windows operating systems.
Current technical knowledge of server and desktop platforms, software, hardware, and communication protocols.
Current technical knowledge of Active Directory and group policies.
Knowledge of IT project management processes, principles and best practices.
Knowledge of operating IT equipment and peripherals (desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, scanners, monitors).


Skills and Abilities
Ability to research, recommend, and effectively implement operational changes.
Ability to select the appropriate communication methods and tools, depending on the audience and situation.
Ability to consistently provide friendly, timely, and accurate client service.

Condition of Employment
Must consent to a background check in order to qualify as a gaming employee.
Must obtain and maintain a gaming employee Certificate of Registration from the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA).
Must be 19 year of age or older.



Other Information
Required to work outside of regular business hours as needed.
Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 10 kg.
Must be willing to travel for operational need and possession of a valid driver’s license.



Main Duties
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, this position supports SIGA’s technical infrastructure, and contributes to operational efficiency, by resolving escalated technical issues, and maintaining SIGA’s desktop environment. Responsibilities include: Providing 2nd tier support to resolve escalated technical issues. Responsible for all aspects of the SIGA desktop environment, from analysis and testing, to rollout and maintenance. Providing account management for SIGA enterprise applications, windows domain and email systems. Applying and maintaining file and folder-level access permission to ensure data security. Performing regular system audits to ensure ongoing security and compliance to security policy. Developing and adhering to defined procedures when configuring desktops to ensure inter-operability, security, and service standards are maintained. Participating in other projects and activities as required, to support the business productivity of SIGA employees.
