Job Description Bartender

Education
Successful completion of a Bartending course at a recognized institution would be preferred. Successful completion of Responsible Service of Alcohol Program is required.

Experience
Experience in customer service and working with many diversified situations and personalities. Previous bartending experience in the restaurant and/or gaming industry would be preferred.

Knowledge
Knowledge of SIGA's guiding principles, structure, and First Nations culture.
Knowledge of food and beverage operations.
Knowledge of safe food handling practices.
Knowledge of the guidelines for responsible service of alcohol, and an understanding of the importance of strictly adhering to those guidelines.

Condition of Employment
Must consent to a background check in order to qualify as a gaming employee
Must obtain and maintain a gaming employee Certificate of Registration from the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA)
Must be 19 years of age or older



Other Information
Irregular hours including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
Could be exposed to tobacco smoke, high noise levels and sharp objects
Pressurized canisters (CO2, pressurized liquor canisters)
Standing/Walking (continually except for breaks)
Pushing/Pulling (regularly, including bus carts and bar inventory)
Lifting (up to 25lbs)
Coordination of fine movements (POS system, preparing beverages)



Main Duties
Reporting to the Restaurant & Bar Coordinator and/or Catering & Events Coordinator and/or Food & Beverage Manager and under the supervision of the Restaurant/Bar Supervisor, this position focuses on delivering customer service excellence, and convenient Food & Beverage services, by preparing beverages for Casino guests in an efficient, professional, and courteous manner. Responsibilities include: Providing exceptional hospitality, emphasizing personalized service and attentive treatment, to ensure guests feel welcome and comfortable. Receiving drink orders. Preparing mixed drinks, bottled/draught beer, wine, and other beverages. Maintaining bar inventory and liquor storage. Cleaning and maintaining bar glassware, surfaces, tools, and equipment. Serving food/snacks to customers. Accepting payment from patrons. Adhering to responsible service of alcohol guidelines. Handling other related tasks as required, to provide service to bar patrons.


Probationary Statement
EXTERNAL NEW HIRES ONLY: Upon completion of your probationary period, your salary will be $15.79 per hour, less applicable statutory deductions.
