Job Description Accounting Clerk

Education
Successful completion of an accounting diploma or certificate from a recognized institution or a combination of relevant education, training and/or experience.

Experience
Processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general administrative and accounting duties. Experience in accounting and auditing in a Casino environment is a definite asset.

Knowledge
Committed to SIGA’s mission, vision, guiding principles and business values.
Understanding and respectful of First Nations culture, values, beliefs, traditions and protocols.
Knowledge of accounting principles and theories.
Experience with JD Edwards or other integrated payable software.
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, etc.

Condition of Employment
Must consent to a background check in order to qualify as a gaming employee.
Must obtain and maintain a gaming employee Certificate of Registration from the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA).
Must be 19 year of age or older.



Other Information
Some evening and weekend work may be required.
Ability to work in an environment that is exposed to tobacco smoke and high noise level.
Willing to travel for operational need and possession of a valid drivers license.



Main Duties
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager; the Accounting Clerk is responsible for assisting the Finance Manager in all aspects of the accounting for the Casino operations. Responsibilities include: Daily reconciliation and auditing of paperwork from the cage, live games, slots and ancillary operations; Data entry of information from casino operations; Assisting in processing accounts payable and receivable; Providing assistance to cage, live games, slots and ancillary operations staff in regards to operational questions, which affect both finance and their department; All other duties assigned by the Finance Manager.
