Job Description Learning & Development Consultant

SIGA is currently looking for creative, motivated, passionate, and energetic individuals to join our team.


Education
Successful completion of a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Education or other related discipline. Several years of directly related experience and training may be considered.

Experience
Experience in the design, development and implementation of training programs.
Experience in conducting needs assessments.
Experience in designing instruments to assess and determine return on training investments.
Experience in evaluating internal/external learning programs and facilitators.
Experience with leadership development and training will be an asset.


Knowledge
Knowledge of SIGA's guiding principles, structure, and First Nations culture.
Working knowledge of adult/workplace education principles, practices, program development, and research methods.
Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint, with the ability to learn additional programs as required.


Skills and Abilities
Ability to research, recommend, and effectively implement operational changes.
Ability to use communication skills under pressure, to promote mutual understanding of complex issues.
Ability to consistently provide friendly, timely, and accurate client service.
Ability to analyse issues or problems, consider multiple factors, and develop creative solutions.

Ability to collaborate and consult effectively across work groups, business units, and organizations, to meet program and organizational goals.

Condition of Employment
Must consent to a background check in order to qualify as a gaming employee
Must obtain and maintain a gaming employee Certificate of Registration from the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA)
Must be 19 years of age or older
Must possess valid Saskatchewan Driver’s License and acceptable driving record

Tobacco smoke/High noise levels (during time spent at Casino sites)
Standard office environment
Periodic evening and weekend work
Frequent travel
Freedom of movement
Keyboarding/Coordination of fine motor skills
Driving (2hrs at a time)



Main Duties
This position will report directly to the Organizational Development & Talent Management and supports the personal and professional growth and development of SIGA employees by sourcing, designing and delivering relevant and effective training on a wide variety of subjects. Responsibilities include: Consulting with stakeholders to identify learning gaps and objectives. Researching and designing training programs. Delivering training modules as required. Monitoring quality of training content and delivery, from all training providers, and at all sites. Gathering information and preparing reports on training participation, feedback, and return on training investment. Striving for, and promoting, continual improvement through critical assessment, ongoing learning, and support for change. Participating in other projects and activities as required, in support of Learning & Development priorities.
