Summer Student

SIGA is currently looking for creative, motivated, passionate, and energetic individuals to join our team.
Education Currently enrolled full-time at a post secondary institution in a certificate, diploma or degree program , and returning full-time as a student in the fall of 2018. Preference will be given to candidates in a field of study related to the SIGA property and hiring manager’s business units needs.
Experience Experience in the field of Facilities is an asset. Experience in managing small initiatives is an asset. Experience in research and analysis is an asset. Experience working with various computer programs such as Microsoft Office.
Knowledge Knowledge of SIGA's guiding principles, structure, and First Nations culture. Knowledge of standard office procedures and equipment. Knowledge of procedures and best practices in the field of Facilities is an asset.
Skills and Abilities Ability to support change with optimism and openness. Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, in both written and verbal form. Ability to consistently provide friendly, timely, and accurate client service. Ability to follow direction and work within established procedures. Ability to work independently, be reliable, and take personal responsibility for tasks and deadlines. Ability to work as part of a team, demonstrating respect and consideration for others.

Condition of Employment Must consent to a background check in order to qualify as a gaming employee Must obtain and maintain a gaming employee Certificate of Registration from the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) Must be 19 years of age or older
Other Information Could be exposed to tobacco smoke and high noise levels Standard office environment Freedom of movement Keyboarding/Coordination of fine motor control (2hrs at a time) Lifting/Moving (up to 25lbs)
Main Duties Reporting to the Director or Manager of the unit, the Summer Student will assist the Department that they are assigned to. Responsibilities will include: Assisting as necessary in preparation and implementation of departmental initiatives; Working on assignments and projects that will improve the processes and procedures within the Department; Acting as backup for Department Consultants/Specialist; Other duties as assigned by the Director or Manager of Department.
Current SIGA employees are not eligible for the Summer Student Program.
