Job Description Senior IT Network Analyst

Education
Successful completion of a four (4) year Computer Science degree or a combination of relevant education, training and/or experience.
A current certification in at least two of the following competencies: CompTIA, Cisco, Palo Alto, (ISC)².


Experience
5 years experience within an enterprise IT environment.
Hands-on experience and technical proficiency in routing and switching, network topologies, both logical and physical network segmentation, management and monitoring software, problem determination and troubleshooting techniques.
Experience managing and maintaining complex TCP/IP networks with multiple routing protocols such as e/iBGP, EIGRP, OSFP and IP Multicast.
Extensive working experience and knowledge of current operating systems, Cisco (IOS, NX-OS and IOS-XE) and related protocols (TCP/IP, SMTP, HTTP, SFTP, FTP, SSH, TELNET, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, IPv6 and RMON etc.).
Experience documenting complex enterprise level systems and processes.
Experience with communicating complex technical information to peers and management.
Experience with Cisco Unified communications, mobility and wireless solutions would be considered an asset.


Knowledge
Knowledge of SIGA’s guiding principles and First Nations culture.
Current technical knowledge of internet and network technologies such as: switching, routing, firewalls, wireless access points and controllers, VPNs and tunneling, VLANs, Quality of Service, load balancing, traffic policing and shaping.
Knowledge supporting the following systems: Cisco Unified Communications including Call Manager, Contact Center, Unity, Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers and Cisco Secure Access Control System or Cisco Identity Services Engine.
Knowledge of security, configuration and inter-operability standards and industry best practices.
Knowledge of monitoring for overall health, performance, capacity and conducting reviews on suspicious activities.


Skills and Abilities
Ability to research, recommend, and effectively implement operational changes referencing industry best practices, vendor documentation, internal policies and procedures and utilize change management processes.
Ability to set priorities to manage multiple tasks and projects with a strong attention to detail and organization.
Ability to select the appropriate communication methods and tools, depending on the audience and situation using both technical and non-technical language.
Ability to consistently provide friendly, timely, and accurate client service.
Ability to mentor peers and support a collaborative workplace culture.
Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with other departments and business units.

Condition of Employment
Must consent to a background check in order to qualify as a gaming employee.
Must obtain and maintain a gaming employee Certificate of Registration from the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA)
Must be 19 years of age or older.

Other Information
Must be willing to travel for operational needs.
Possession of a valid driver’s license would be an asset.
Ability to lift up to 20 kg.

Main Duties
The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority is a technology-driven, progressive organization where IT systems interact annually with over 4 million guests and staff. SIGA is seeking a motivated team member who is experienced with enterprise-wide technical planning and design/architecture coupled with hands-on experience administering complex IT solutions to join the IT Operations team.

Reporting to the Manager of IT Infrastructure, this position supports and contributes to operational efficiency of the IT network and communications infrastructure to ensure high levels of availability, system integrity, security, privacy and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include: develop strategies, policies, standards and procedures. Assess, monitor and optimize the infrastructure for high availability, capacity, performance and security. Install, configure and administer the network and communications hardware, software and systems. Carry out a wide variety of system maintenance, management and support activities. Participate in other projects and activities as required.

The successful candidate will be joining a growing team where you will directly contribute to a number of new and exciting projects including, corporate and wireless network re-design, the development of end-user computing and mobile device capabilities, transitioning to a hybrid IT service delivery model as well as supporting a number of business led projects.
