Communications & Sales Marketing Manager Canada

The Communications & Sales Marketing Manager Canada is responsible for improving marketing performance and perception of the Client Brand in Canada for his/her respective customer segment. Therefore he/she is responsible to transfer the regional Marketing Strategies into a Canadian Marketing plans, align with Canadian Sales & Service and ensure efficient execution.

The Communications & Sales Marketing Manager country is responsible to develop local messages incl. relevant proof points and ensure implementation of these and of global customer messages, training and sales argumentation to sales, distributors and customers. He/she ensures that all Communications & Sales Marketing measures are aligned with Sales & Service and that hand-over to sales processes is ensured where needed.

He/she manages the interface with agencies and other suppliers to ensure efficient implementation and compliance with brand and Corporate Design and Corporate Language Guidelines. He/she partners internally with cross-functional teams such as Digital Marketing, Event Management or Channel Marketing as needed.

In Canada, the Communication & Sales Marketing Manager’s responsibility is to be the primary contact for contract bids, collecting responses to technical queries which can’t be answered by Technical Support/Triage, liaising with other business functions to ensure strategy is understood and applied, and working with end-users to build reference sites by gauging customer satisfaction. The Communication & Sales Marketing Manager also is the conduit for information from the field (at all touch points) to the internal organization to ensure best practices are shared and to influence continuous improvement of systems and customer experiences.

Principal Accountabilities: Itemize the separate duties, responsibilities, and expected outcomes of the position. Lead development and implementation of local marketing plan incl. product and application marketing activities (incl. allocation of resources). (5%)

Develop local Communications & Sales Marketing campaigns, projects and measures (considering global concepts and guidelines) and ensure implementation on all levels (e.g. product launch, training, lifecycle communications) to support country business plan and improve marketing performance and brand perception (from awareness to customer loyalty). (25%)

3 Translate local positioning into consistent messaging (customer communications, sales argumentation, trainings) and align with results from competitive analysis. Develop and deploy proof points for messaging in cooperation with regional Communications & Sales Marketing teams. (10%)

Manage interface with agencies and suppliers. (3%)

5 Support Marketing cooperation and partnerships in alignment with local Sales & Service. This includes handling customer issues – leading the resolution, communicating findings to sales and/or end-user, developing reference sites through on-going engagement with the users. (20%)
6 Support Competitive Intelligence with Communications & Sales Marketing for his country. (attending tradeshows, meeting with end-users, participating in industry committees and professional associations, monitoring competitor activities) (10%)

7 Take responsibility for brand, Corporate Design and Corporate Language compliance of customer-facing developed materials throughout the company. (2%)

8 Provide support to local Sales team (and distributors) in terms of providing training and tools to enhance their capabilities to communicate the clients added value to our customers. Also includes supporting demo equipment and demo process, end user trials, and preparation of bid packages. (20%)

Position Requirements:

Provide hiring requirements for the specified position, as well as necessary educational, experiential, and other requirements necessary for the position.

Master’s Degree in Marketing related field or equivalent degree

Related Experience:

6+ years of experience in Marketing roles in a B2B and/or related agency environment

Special Competencies or Certifications:

 Strong skills in a wide variety of marketing tools

 Must have skills and experiences in both strategic and operational management of Marketing Management
 Solid understanding of sales and product management processes
 Advanced understanding of the link between Marketing and all other business processes, i.e. R&D, Operations, Sales, Service, …
 Experience specific to the assigned market/customer area
