This position supports the Resource Protection mandate to reduce criminal activity and provide a safe work environment to LCBO staff and customers. Ensuring the secure operation of all LCBO computer systems (servers & workstations), and network connections and monitoring and reporting on any security issues that may impact the LCBO.

Reporting to the Manager, Information Security, you will be responsible for performing Vulnerability Scanning, File Integrity Monitoring, assisting with security reviews, threat-risk assessments, Disaster Recovery planning, Incident Response, and formulating Security Awareness content. You will perform internal computer forensic investigations and prepare associated reports as required. You will also perform necessary tasks to ensure compliance with the PCI-DSS, and to remediate any gaps (if any).

Working in partnership with managed service security providers, you will;
• Monitor and audit user accounts, permissions and access rights.
• Analyze and resolve any connection security vulnerabilities for local area networks, wide area networks, company intranet, and e-mail communications.
• Monitor server logs, firewall logs, intrusion prevention\detection logs, and network traffic for unusual or suspicious activity. Interpret activity and make recommendations for resolution.
• Assess any need for security reconfigurations and document necessary procedures.Qualifications:
Knowledge of Information Security usually obtained through an undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or equivalent job related experience. A CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) designation is a definite asset. The candidate should have a sound knowledge of both the security & I.T. industry in general. Expert knowledge of network topologies & protocols as well as experience with industry security solutions; such as firewalls, encryption standards, secure remote access, vulnerability management, mobile device security, certificate\key management etc. Knowledge of current operating environments such as Windows and UNIX. Experience with various security software applications (McAfee Vulnerability Manager; McAfee ePO, Q1 Labs Qradar; TripWire; EnCase; Qualys) and experience with disaster recovery planning. The candidate should possess a familiarity with both PCI-DSS & ITIL standards and have excellent communication skills and be able to interact with Senior Level Management when required. The candidate should show progressive experience in technical support, computer operations, production control and customer service.
