The LCBO Corporate Human Resources Services (CHRS) department partners with corporate head office divisions by providing a wide range of front line human resource services. CHRS assists divisional clients at all levels including senior level management in achieving HR objectives while ensuring adherence and consistency in application of policies, processes and practices throughout the organization.

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate HR Services, and as a participative member of the client's divisional management teams, the HR Consultant provides proactive confidential advice to the Divisional Management clients in developing strategies to resolve human resources issues in the following areas: employee relations; contract interpretation; legislation and internal policy interpretation; workforce planning; recruitment and staffing strategies; succession planning; organizational and job design; job classification; performance management; salary administration; investigations; workplace accommodation; and human resource policies in support of the LCBO overall strategic and operational objectives.

As an HR generalist, you will have:
•Exceptional knowledge of overall Human Resource functions acquired through demonstrated progressive experience at a consultant level and within a unionized environment, preferably combined with related post secondary education and a CHRP designation.
•Experience providing front-line HR consultation and developing partnerships with all levels of management, including senior level.
•A thorough knowledge of HR principles, procedures, practices, relevant legislation, regulations, Labour / Employment law, and collective agreements, to provide consultation, expert advice and guidance to management.
•Excellent judgment, analytical and problem-solving skills in establishing strategies and resolving HR matters.
•Ability to deal with sensitive and highly confidential human resource issues.
•Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
•Knowledge of personal computers.
•Preferably, a valid Ontario driver's licence.
