Job Description Operations Analyst

The Operational Analyst acts in a consultative and advisory role with respect to current and proposed business activities, analysis tools, methodologies, policies and procedures, inventory, accounting and budgeting information and is accountable for a combination of activities including:
•Conducts and provides detailed analysis on complex departmental and LCBO logistics and operational issues and develops proposals and recommendations for the division and senior management; prepares accurate operating and statistical reports and statements generated from various systems for submission to senior management; reviews/analyses operational and statistical reports and statements, monitors variances, identifies trends and recommends action;
•Reviews operating reporting systems/processes and recommends alternative processes to improve efficiency and streamline operation practices. Analyses processes by developing detailed problem definition, defining requirements, analyzing alternatives and recommending improvements;
•Acts in a consultative and advisory role with respect to current and proposed business activities, operational analysis tools, methodologies, policies and procedures, inventory control information and operational activities

•Position requires excellent skills and experience performing analysis, reporting and budgeting, as well as experience with and knowledge of logistics activities, functions, processes, concepts and legislations usually acquired through a combination of experience within a logistics environment and post-secondary education in an engineering, business administration, finance or logistics field. Work experience reconciling business activities from source documentation to General Ledger is a definite asset as is a CITT Designation.
•Position requires knowledge of complex analysis methodology to provide in-depth analysis and to make recommendations. Also requires knowledge of the technical and computerized systems for implementation, testing and to generate reports using various query tools
•Advanced knowledge of related computerized systems and software to facilitate accurate, timely and comprehensive reporting and analysis including experience using mainframe applications and integrated office systems to generate reports using various query tools. Advanced knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office programs including Word, Outlook, Excel and Access. Knowledge of Oracle, dBase or similar systems is beneficial.
•Advanced knowledge and experience utilizing freight audit and customs reporting systems to facilitate accurate, timely and comprehensive reporting and analysis.
•Position requires effective communication (verbal and written), proven leadership skills, sound analytical and problem solving abilities and effective organizational skills.
