Product Advisor
Reporting to a Category Manager, this position is responsible and accountable to provide analysis, insight and recommendations for the structuring, management and planning of product categories; measure the performance of promotional and merchandising activities and helping to identify product, marketing and shelf set enhancement opportunities to maximize sales growth.
This position supports the Business Unit Director, Category Managers, Product Managers and Inventory Managers with respect to providing analysis, forecasting and other applicable aspects of supply chain management.
Working with the Category Manager this role will enhance and develop new category management tools to optimize sales and inventory turns. This position may also manage a small portfolio of products.
Qualifications: •Strong understanding of retail category management principles, marketing techniques, space management and merchandising concepts, business and economic modeling, and business analysis usually obtained either from a post secondary degree in Business Administration or an equivalent combination of work related experience and a related post secondary degree or diploma. •Superior analytical skills. •Familiarity with the beverage alcohol industry and superior product knowledge complemented by completion of relevant training such as the Wine Spirits Education Trust programs. •Sound knowledge and experience of computer system applications including the Microsoft Office suite of programs and a demonstrated ability to leverage information technology (i.e., PCs and mainframe software) on diverse and varied applications. •Demonstrated experience in the areas of retail marketing and merchandising as well as demonstrated project management and decision making skills. •Sound communication, interpersonal and presentation skills are essential. •Knowledge of the LCBO organization, structure and programs is an asset.
