There is a CONTRACT ( 17 Months) opportunity, reporting to the Director of Tenant Coordination, located at the Western Portfolio Office, Calgary, Alberta.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Undergraduate degree in Architecture/ Interior Design/Project Management At least 8 to 10 years relevant and progressive experience in retail interior design. Construction industry or building management, involved with interior design Previous experience/involvement in all facets of project management. Strong knowledge of retail interior design and/or retail architecture. Solid understanding of commercial mechanical and electrical systems. Solid understanding of local and national building codes. Computer skills including AutoCad, MS Office, Lotus Notes, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop. Good knowledge of drafting. Ability to interpret blue prints. Ability to read and understanding working papers and interpret tenant design intent. Ability to multi-task Solid project management skills Previous experience in a role, providing guidance and/coaching junior team members. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to influence and reason Demonstrated tact and diplomacy. Strong organizational and prioritization skills Strong relationship building skills. Detail oriented. Demonstrated well developed coaching skills
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Monitors and coordinates tenant activities with respect to production of design working drawings and construction; Directs tenants and/or their consultants and contractors while overseeing projects; and, Ensures projects are being completed smoothly and on time. Ensures and encourages team communication Reviews and approves tenant store designs and provides comments on proposals to ensure high quality store designs to Cadillac Fairview (CF) standards. Consults with the Architecture and Design group, and General Managers to ensure tenants comply with CF design criteria; Coordinates review of engineering drawings by analyzing and distributing them to consultants and in-house operations personnel. Ensures tenants comply with base building criteria and intent of base building systems; Maintains an electronic review process utilizing AutoCad and email system to reduce time and provide an electronic file system for drawings; Revises and maintains Tenant Coordination procedure manual, including contractor’s work regulations, by consulting with staff in other departments such as National Property Operations and General Managers. This manual is to be used as a guideline for the General Manager and Building Maintenance Supervisor at the shopping centre for on site Tenant Coordination activities; Revises and maintains Tenant Design Criteria by consulting with design department and General Managers. Produces design sketches for the procedure manual to aid tenants and their designers on store design and CF standards; Prepares and issues monthly or quarterly drawing invoices to tenants for drawings reviewed; Develops and implements electronic systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Architecture and Design department and CF; Consult and advise as to the impact of landlord’s work in relation to tenant design issues on a development project team. May also assist with dedicated tenant coordination services and support during a development construction project. Monitor tenant activities with respect to the production of design, working drawings and construction to ensure work is performed to CF standards and in a timely fashion; Respond to queries from tenants, their designers, and contractors. Attends tenant and base building project meetings to share information; Review construction to assure completion as to specification, and carry out final inspection of tenant construction to certify completion. Works closely with, and provides guidance to the Tenant Coordinator I with respect to workflow processes.
