As a Research Assistant, you will provide technical support to economists and analysts and perform other operational tasks such as data collection, the production of figures and charts, and statistical analysis. You will work independently and in collaboration with other team members.
play a supportive role for economic research projects by conducting simple analysis assess, collect, organize and manipulate data from internal and external sources facilitate information and document management perform other operational and processing tasks within the team as required participate in departmental or Bank-wide initiatives as required
bachelors degree in economics, computer science, mathematics or in commerce/business administration with a finance major OR advanced degrees in mathematics or statistics courses in one of the following areas: - macroeconomic/microeconomic theory and policy - econometrics/statistics/quantitative analysis - finance English or French essential ability to organize work to ensure that production schedules are met ability to work independently and as part of a team excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively basic computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet program and presentation software) demonstrated commitment to learning and self-development
good communication skills in both official languages knowledge of econometrics experience in supporting economic research highly developed programming skills (MATLAB, Stata, VBA, etc.)
