The Marketing and Communications Analyst contributes to the work of the Retail Debt Team by building an understanding of the Retail Debt Program and applying this knowledge to the team’s responsibilities that are related to marketing and communications. Under the general direction of the Communications Adviser in Retail Debt, the Marketing and Communications Analyst is responsible for supporting the implementation of the communications and outreach programs and services for Canada Savings Bonds (CSBs). These programs and services include a national advertising campaign: media relations; creating and distributing marketing outreach material; producing content for websites; managing printing, warehousing and distribution; managing relationships and suppliers; and participating in the overall strategic planning exercises.
• coordinate the development and production of specific marketing and communications materials (print, website, etc.) to reach target audiences and promote the Retail Debt Program, services and activities • participate as a marketing subject-matter expert in operational projects involving impact on end-user clients and be well versed in best practices with regard to information architecture • conduct periodic evaluation of the CSB websites, and recommend and implement improvements• direct and draft media and public relations materials (e.g., news releases, media advisories, media lines, questions and answers) for media representatives and stakeholders• contribute to the development and implementation of communications and marketing strategies for the Bank of Canada’s Retail Debt Team and the Department of Finance • evaluate the effectiveness of various marketing and communications activities• contribute to the communications plan by researching key issues, trends, developments, attitudes, opinions and potential reactions by principal stakeholders• participate in various committee meetings to support the delivery of the CSB Program• work with partners and suppliers on a day-to-day basis to ensure that business requirements are understood and delivered on time• provide strategic advice and recommendations to contribute to the objectives of the program’s medium-term plan
• bachelor’s degree in communications or marketing and a minimum of five years of work experience in communications or marketingor• a minimum of seven years of work experience in communications or marketingand• English and French essential• functional in second official language (training may be provided to help the selected candidate reach the required level of fully functional)• ability to systematically analyze information, define problems and draw logical conclusions• ability to conduct research to determine trends or uncover additional information• ability to anticipate opportunities or uncover potential problems and devise plans to address them• ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences by adapting one's language, by clarifying complex information and by conveying sensitive information in an appropriate manner• ability to build and cultivate a broad network of internal and external business relationships• ability to multi-task, maintaining accuracy, attention to detail and timeliness while meeting deadlines
