Job Description Accounting Clerk

Position Summary
*** Note: Pay Range is based on 2016 Rates of Pay ***

As Accounting Clerk you will be responsible for accounting processes including, but not limited to, preparation of journals, adjusting entries, accruals and follow up;

Month end and year end working papers, reconciliations and spreadsheet development;

Liaise with internal and external customers;

Enter invoices, processing and distributing payments to vendors;

Processing of customer invoices and revenue collection;

Recording of cash receipts and additional duties as assigned as determined by workload of accounting team.


Qualifications, Competencies
Two Year College Diploma in a business discipline or equivalent in education and experience;

Minimum of two years of accounting experience in a computerized environment with experience in the use of integrated financial software and spreadsheet applications;

Working knowledge of PeopleSoft Financial Software will be considered an asset;

Must demonstrate corporate competencies: Customer Focus, Results Orientation, Integrity, and Teamwork.


Skills, Abilities, Work Demands
Ability to perform well independently and as a team player;

Able to perform in a fast pace and demanding work environment with the ability to multi-task and prioritize;

Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy;

Working knowledge of computerized accounting systems;

Microsoft Excel and word proficiency at an Basic Level (tested);

Must obtain and maintain a satisfactory CPIC (Criminal Record Check), at candidates own expense.
