BWH Required Skills:
The successful applicant will work in compliance with all relevant and applicable legislation and Hospital Policies and Procedures, will practice the Bluewater Health Standards of Performance Excellence and will fulfill their role within the Attendance Support Program parameters. The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualifications:
-Community College Diploma in Office Administration or Medical Office Administration required
-Successful Completion of Health & Safety certificate / courses preferred
-Valid First Aid certificate preferred


Skill, Ability and Experience:
-Three to five years recent experience in an Administrative Assistant role required
-Recent experience in a hospital/healthcare environment preferred
-Recent experience in the Customer service preferred
-Knowledge and application of meeting procedures required
-Proficiency in executive office processes required
-Ability to set priorities, plan, organize, file, execute duties, balance priorities and meet deadlines required
-Ability to maintain discretion and strict observance of confidentiality required
-Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Visio) required
-Working knowledge of Medical Terminology required
-Working knowledge of Parklane Health and Safety Program preferred


Principle Duties:
-Provides administrative support to the Occupational Health and Safety Department
-Responsible for maintaining and updating health records of hospital employees
-Receive staff, volunteers, new employees and visitors in a friendly, helpful manner-
-Make appointments for staff, volunteers and new employees regarding occupational health matters (eg. pre-placement health clearance, immunizations, etc.)
-Design, data entry, compile and distribute various reports
-Prepare agendas, meeting packages and record minutes for meetings and committees
-Support the various activities of the Health and Safety committees
-Participates in unit/department and Hospital Quality Improvement initiatives
-Completes continuing education requirements as necessary
-Other related duties as assigned
