Job Summary:

CSA Group has immediate opening for a Technical Account Manager located in Guangzhou, China. The position serves as the primary customer contact in the development of new accounts or the development of new opportunities with established accounts. It works with other CSA Group staff to ensure customer satisfaction and service Also it promotes the use of CSA Group for new or expanded services and ensures continued growth of new business for CSA Group services.

Responsibility:

• Establishes and maintains account relationships to meet personal sales targets, emphasizing increased use of certification and testing and other CSA Group services. Independently prospects for new customers within assigned territory, using various telemarketing and direct solicitation methods. Prospecting, quoting and sales targets are determined on yearly bases.
• Develops account management relationship with current CSA Group customers to ensure that customers are satisfied with our current service. Seeks value added opportunities to increase interest and promote the use of new services for CSA Group. Contacts former CSA Group customers lost to other agencies to attempt to regain work. In collaboration with the appropriate Technical Specialist, communicates with Operations staff concerning contacts with current customers.
• Prepares project quotations for cost and time. Classifies product by use, environment and function. Determines applicable requirements / test / standards. Responds promptly to all inquiries and visits with clients as necessary to present information regarding CSA services. Prioritizes work assignments and follow up responses to clients inquires and proposals.
• Prepares written proposals of cost for services for clients, working through/with the technical operations staff and using applicable questionnaire and worksheets. Sends proposals to clients and conducts follow up calls to provide further information, and answers questions. Documents activities for reporting and further follow up. When appropriate, works with the operations staff in preparing documents to open an applications.
• Develops ongoing business relationship (through telephone, meetings, visits, correspondence etc) with the clients and industry related groups using a scheduled plan for customer contact. Participates in associations and outside organizations deemed appropriate by management. Establishes and maintains a list of contacts based on experience, historic utilization reputation, influence and personal judgment. The list will include contacts, as well as personally developed relationships.
• Manages the relationship with clients by determining client needs and expectations. Relates necessary information to operations to maintain customer satisfaction. Represents CSA Group at assigned trade shows, exhibits, conferences and client presentations. Identifies and communicates business opportunities and competitive trends. Executes defined market strategies and management determined regional business initiatives, as assigned.
• Participates in CSA Group Technical Network and Technical Panel as required. Maintains accurate and complete client files for the assigned customers and territory, including the input of new/existing client information into the sales database. Additional reporting may be requested as needed.
• Provides periodic written reports on calls, customer contact, proposals, quotes, expenses, travel and tradeshow activities, as well as oral presentation as required. Evaluates industry reports, territory databases, and external competitive information and develops territory analysis or provides input for presentation and reporting to manager.

Education:

• Three years College Diploma in a relevant technological discipline

Experience:

• 6 or more years of work experience in similar industry; or significant industry experiences performing certification and testing work.
• 2-3 years of Sales experience

Skills:

• Territory management skills (planning) for proactively identifying potential customers, preparing plan for prospecting and follow up and reporting resulting in various presentations.
• High level of initiative to meet or exceed targeted goals with minimal supervision
• Organized and independent worker
• Excellent listening and retention skills. Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to cope with unpredictable schedule, regular work interruptions, multiple deadlines and targeted goals
• Ability to prepare cost proposal promptly to meet customers’ needs
• Independent sales generation and/or customer account management (telemarketing, marketing, sales)
• Public speaking - oral and written proposal and presentations
• Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and data base applications
• Prior experience with sales tracking software an asset
• Ability to work independently
• Initiate and ability to develop new customer contacts
• Organize and detail oriented
• Responsive and pleasant when dealing with external and internal customers, peers and co-workers
• Flexible in schedule and time management
• Customer company resolution skills; working with manager and other appropriate CSA Group supervisor, technical staff or managers, identifying problems, investigate concerns and suggest solutions
• Strong organization, creativity and project management skills to plan for projects, events and conferences
• Problem resolution skills, to deliver high quality and timely services
