Global Enterprise Services (GES) is one of the foundational divisions of TMX organization that empowers internal TMX business lines for their technology needs, operations and digital innovation. GES as a client centric organization focuses on building technology capabilities, enabling our clients with the best technology solutions and providing effective technology financial and resource management processes. The cost effective operation is a key attribute of the GES execution. GES is responsible for delivery of all technology initiatives and services across TMX.

The Manager, Client Technology Delivery, Market Insights is responsible for all aspect of GES service delivery for Market Insights. This leadership role is significant to Market Insights initiative delivery and driving success for all related GES technology services.


The Manager, Client Technology Delivery (MCTD), Market Insights reports into the Head, Client Technology Delivery, Market Insights and NGX and at forefront of the GES Client Delivery Organization, acting as liaison and bridging/facilitating communication and understanding between the business and GES. The MCTD is responsible for understanding the overarching business model as well as the intricacies and nuances of their assigned functional business areas. The MCTD leads all aspect of delivery for their assigned business areas providing technology solutions that are effectively illustrate the value of the need, from cost/benefits to technology foundation to be aligned with the organization’s goals.

This role blurs the line between the business and GES, creating a seamless capability for the business to leverage the services and expertise of the GES organization to deliver technology driven business solutions aligned with TMX’s business strategies and technology direction. The individual in this role must be able to work collaboratively with business partners, senior management, project teams, planning functions and other technology and business professionals across the organization

Key Accountabilities:

Client Partnership and Relationship:
Establish and maintains strong relationship/partnership with Market Insights business units that encourages collaboration, trust and transparency
Hold the primary communication line responsibility between GES and Market Insights business units except day to day and production support
Ensure client satisfaction is always a top priority, maintain a healthy and trustful relationship with clients, and take actions to address issues raised by client satisfaction surveys.

Project and Portfolio Management:
Lead initiation phase of business case, provide initial project estimates and cost-benefit analysis and ensures assumptions and risks are captured properly at early stage, represent business cases at estimation and activation committee
Review the portfolio of products and technologies deployed for Market Insights and work with GES teams to identify opportunities to leverage enterprise capabilities toward Market Insights business
Drive prioritization of the projects and other work within the portfolio of Market Insights

Technology Delivery:
As the primary stakeholder in charge of GES client delivery for Market Insights, ensure continuous alignment with business objectives while overseeing overall delivery of the GES services and projects associated with Market Insights
Provide multiple business options for any given client initiative request in order to engage in productive technology selection

Influential and Collaboration:
Collaborate with other GES leaders responsible for PMO, business analysis, technical engagement and the delivery of business and technology solutions
Fully understand business unit revenue challenges and provides delivery and technology support to overcome cost challenges associated

Strategic Contribution:
Demonstrate leadership and strong sense of quality to the clients when representing GES
Fully understand the technology and architectural solutions for the Market Insights
Participate and contribute to GES technology strategies as well as business lines strategies
Develop a solid understanding of both client and GES challenges and effectively manage expectations by a balanced win/win decision

Must Have Skills:

Exceptional relationship building, client centricity and influential skills
Good portfolio and project management skills
Ability to communicate complex problems in a non-technical and simplified manner
Ability to effectively communicate business needs to the technology teams
Conceptual strategic thinker and have a client centric mindset
Have proven track record of delivering real-time broadcast Market data feeds and downstream data applications
Promptly being available in responding to client inquires with sense of urgency and putting clients first
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Bachelor’s degree in relevant technology field or equivalent
10+ years of delivery related experience in software solutions
Solid experience with financial industry and Capital Markets especially in Market Insights business
Experienced with variety of technology architecture including application, infrastructure, data and security
Quickly understand organizational dynamics and management priorities, and to be able to work effectively in a fast paced, results driven technology environment
Solid experience in Market Insights, Big Data Analytics, Real-time Data Broadcast, Data Lake and data related capital markets products






Technology background and knowledge:


Application Development Life Cycle - SDLC
Cloud platforms
Bimodal, Agile, CI (continuous integration) , CD (continuous delivery), Devops
Database technologies, data warehousing, data marts and complex data modeling, in-memory databases
Open source platforms, familiarity with programming languages (such as C++, Java, Java scripting, Scala, Ruby, Node.js, AngularJS, web, scripting)
End point devices such as mobile, single sign on, API based integration, Restful web services
Workflow engines, document management systems, reporting systems, web forms
Big data solutions, data analytics, data lakes, unstructured data, sandbox data environments, Hadoop, Spark, Kdb
Familiarity with enterprise level tools and products such as Google for work, JIRA, ServiceNow, Work Day, electronic payment solutions
