Your responsibilities

• Oversee the investigation and cost analysis of accidents, dangerous occurrences, determining their root causes and drive recommendation for improvement and cost reduction
• Conduct trend analysis, develop and assess source as well as training tools and techniques that speak to risk reduction, accident prevention and safe behaviour
• Develop control systems focusing on critical safe behaviors to prevent accidents and help to minimize future expense
• Assess relevant training needs for safety staff and drivers
• Continually develop orientation and handbook material in relation to department objectives and conduct regular employee evaluations
• Keep abreast of regulations for various jurisdiction (research and provide direction with regard to compliance)
• Work with Operations to ensure successful implementation of electronic log monitoring and develop a cause and effect process for managing compliance
• Ensure department processes and records satisfy compliance for insurers and governing bodies
• Prepare and coordinate the safety audit, the audit process and monitor safety performance for all terminals

Our requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience in the transport industry
• Bilingualism
• Computer skills (MS Office)
• Ability and will to travel
• Ability to synthesize different rules and regulations into company policies and to create pertaining programs
• Negotiating, interpersonal as well as strong organizational skills
• Capacity to maintain harmony and consistency between the two terminals, to work under pressure and meet deadlines
