Job Description:

An independent, not-for-profit organization, OTN is funded by the Government of Ontario.

OTN is seeking a Clinical Innovation Associate. As a member of the OTN Clinical Innovation team, the Clinical Innovation Associate provides support to key OTN clinical innovation projects and initiatives. The Clinical Innovation Associate is a creative thinker with knowledge of the healthcare system and new technologies for new emerging models of care.

This position requires a self-directed, energetic and innovative thinker who has knowledge of the healthcare system, excellent problem solving and analytical skills and who can attend to numerous details at once in a fast-paced environment. The position also requires an individual who has excellent oral and written communication skills. The successful candidate will enjoy working as a member of an inter professional team in an environment where activities will vary day-to-day. The role is located in OTN's Toronto office (of note, we will be moving office in July to University and Dundas) and reports to the Director, Clinical Innovation. Perfect opportunity for new grads with clinical informatics and healthcare administration and leadership knowledge and experience. This is a 6 month contract with a strong potential for extension.

Responsibilities and Activities:
Support key Clinical Innovation projects and initiatives which includes:
Provide operational support to Clinical Innovation programs (ie. Teleophthalmology, Telehomecare, new models of care)
Coordinate information gathering, analysis and delivery of reports required to support project deliverables
Work in partnership with OTN Analytics team to obtain health care and project related data from multiple external sources
Review external technology options and /or models of care documented in the literature or external sources to support project planning
Support project planning, implementation and evaluation
Assist with clinical workflow development and associated materials and resources
Work with partner organizations to support project implementation, evaluation and completion of deliverables
Assist in developing communications for partnering organizations
Assist in the scheduling, preparation, documentation and participation in key meetings to support projects
Perform work in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all other corporate/departmental policies and procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the manager


Qualifications and Attributes:
Master's Degree in a health-related field
Recent work experience in health care setting required with evidence of understanding of the health care system and system stakeholders particularly as they relate to clinical innovation
Experience in a project environment
Experience in health system planning and project implementation
Experience in data analysis, reporting and project evaluation
Experience developing clinical workflows
Proficiency in preparing executive level reports an asset
Familiarity with PMI project management lexicon, processes, methodologies and tools an asset
Proficiency in Excel, Visio and other Microsoft Office Tools is mandatory
Required to undergo a criminal reference check
