The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the efficient operation of the warehousing and shipping functions at our Edmonton Creit location. Primary responsibilities encompass leadership and supervision of employees, product inventory, Health & Safety and load-out, and improving warehousing productivity. This position reports to the Creit Warehouse Manager.
- Provides leadership, direction and guidance to warehouse personnel;- Supervision, evaluation, motivation and training of personnel to ensure work is completed efficiently, effectively and safely;- Ensures the efficient and effective use of manpower, equipment and material resources;- Schedules equipment and personnel to ensure warehouse requirements are met on a timely basis;- Ensures that safe conditions exist at all times within the work environment; will take appropriate action to protect the health and safety of employees;- Develops and fosters strong and effective functional and cross-functional teams;- Fostering of internal departmental relationships with the focus on continuously improving the facility Team environment; - Ensures the efficient and effective operation of the Warehouse with a view to ensuring customer needs are met;- Prepares and completes communication reports, measurement reports, schedules, forms and other documentation as required;- Administration of the Collective Agreement and Company Policies and Procedures;- Administers environmental policies and ensures regulations are followed;- Assists with preparation of department budget; monitors and controls costs;- Ensures security of materials and products;- Facilitates training and the application of the Warehouse Management System;- Ensure that all work is preformed safety while following OH&S, WCB, and Company regulations and procedures;- Undertakes other functions and Special Projects as required.
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems.- High school graduation or equivalent. - Post-secondary education in operations management, business, transportation or warehousing preferred. - Thorough knowledge of shipping, operations management, business, transportation or warehousing.- Prior management or administrative experience in shipping or operations an asset.- Working knowledge of microcomputer software.- Superior communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated analytical organizational skills;- Must be self-motivated, results oriented, possess high degree of initiative, work well under pressure;- Proficiency and dependability in current position;- Must be available to work shift work, holidays, and weekends, on call;
