This position is responsible for developing and implementing policies and guidelines for managers and Human Resources colleagues on occupational and non-occupational short term and long term disability case management.
- Develop, implement, and maintain disability policies to ensure optimal efficiency, cost savings and adequate controls within company guidelines and legal parameters, and make recommendations for improvements.- Act as relationship manager to service providers, ensuring adequate levels of consultation, effectiveness, and service delivery (e.g., insurers, disability claims vendors). - Ensure collaborative return to work planning with managers and HR representatives, minimizing lost time and ensuring program effectiveness. - Providing regular reporting, KPI monitoring and conducting trend analysis.- Responsible for all financials, including financial/costs reporting and tracking. - Proactively identifying areas of opportunity and developing and conducting training presentations related to disability management. - Review and approve IMEs and private treatment costs and Workers’ Compensation appeals.- Participate in quarterly reviews of program performance, conference calls regarding active claims and general case escalation and resolution.- Performing and participating in programs and initiatives such as prevention and wellness.
- University degree in relevant field;- 7 to 10 years of experience with return to work programs and claims management preferably in a manufacturing industry;- Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP), an asset.- Experience in handling occupational and non-occupational disability cases and knowledge of the Workers' Compensation legislation in all Provinces.- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal), able to communication effectively with all levels, exercising tact and diplomacy. - Excellent influencing skills and ability to act as a change agent.- Experience working in a global and/or matrix organization is an asset.- Proven ability to work independently as well as within a team environment. - Proficient in Microsoft Office;- Bilingual, French & English (spoken and written);- Available to travel periodically.
