Maintenance Technician - A

Job Duties:
• Ensure the safe and appropriate operation of equipment by proper diagnosis, repair and maintenance of production/processing machinery and other mechanical equipment.
• Repair, replace, adjust, and align components of machinery and equipment such as breakers, electrical controls, battery chargers and inverters, heating/ventilation/air conditioning systems, AC and DC motors, auxiliary equipment, distribution panels, oil pump motors/starters/controls, relays, switchboards/panels, switching and grounding equipment, distribution circuits, uninterruptible power supply, motor starters and circuits, relay circuits, emergency lighting, instrumentation systems/devices, gears, accordance with diagrams, blueprints, operating manuals, or manufacturer’s specifications; examine parts for defects, breakage and excessive wear.
• Clean and lubricate parts, equipment and machinery.
• Test-run repaired machinery and equipment to verify adequacy of repairs.
• Generate requisitions for parts and materials.
• Record and log repair and maintenance work in an accurate manner.
• Have all required tools to perform job; carry basic tools and test equipment at all time; maintain tools in workable condition at all times.
• Work on PLC controls, VFD drives and demonstrate a good understanding of instrumentation.
• Perform other duties and projects as required.

Required Qualifications:
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• A minimum of five (5) years’ maintenance experience within Dairy, Food, and/or Beverage industry.
• Able to pass WorkKeys assessment on Applied Mathematics, Reading for Information, and Locating Information. Able to pass Ramsay assessment at level A.
• Effective troubleshooting skills; must be able to systematically diagnose electrical and/or mechanical problems.
• Working knowledge of boilers, refrigeration, PLC’s, electrical, VFD drives, cooling towers, ammonia compressors, process instrumentation, hydraulics, pneumatics, and packaging equipment.
• Have basic computer skills in order to perform maintenance and repair on computer-controlled machinery.
• Experience with digital and analog electronics, control circuits and automated systems.
• Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner and promptly reports any unsafe working conditions.
• Demonstrate integrity in all business activities with employees, visitors and vendors.
• Demonstrate good interpersonal communication skills.
• Comply with Saputo’s food safety, quality programs, and regulatory requirements.
• Understand and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
• Reliable and consistent attendance and available to work any shift, overtime or holidays as required; may be required to cover the absence of key personnel.
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with good time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to logically determine mechanical/electrical/process control system functions, in order to determine the most efficient method of resolving malfunctions.
