Position Summary

Hours: Opportunity for temporary full time hours, although subject to availability.

Required

•Registration in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario.
• Ability to provide communication and dysphagia assessment and treatment services to adults.
• Experience with an adult caseload and video-fluoroscopic evaluations.
• Able to travel between sites at QHC (Belleville, Picton & Trenton) as needed.
• Able to work pre-scheduled weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
• Capable of coping with a physically demanding workload. (Physical Demands Analysis PDA available to review)
• Evidence of continuing professional development. (please list most recent 3 on application)

Duties

• Provide Speech and Language assessments and intervention for a range of acute inpatient clients including stroke, ICU, general medical and ER.
• Training for rehab and/or outpatient clients will be completed as needed
• Provide care in a busy hospital setting at multiple sites of QHC (Belleville, Picton & Trenton).
• Work pre-scheduled holidays on a rotating basis.
• Participate in interprofessional team assessments, goal setting and case management/coordination.
• Maintain appropriate written records and statistics for all patients in accordance with professional standards and hospital policy.
• Engage in program development, evaluation and education activities as determined by the service.
• Complete professional development activities to continuously upgrade knowledge and skills.
• Liaise with community agencies and other related caregivers on patient specific matters
• Provide coverage for other services as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
