Position Summary

The Technology Deployment Student will assist our helpdesk staff installing technology to support our on-going LUMEO Project including printers, personal computers, and other devices as part of the hospital’s equipment replacement plans and installation of software and peripherals on computers. Furthermore, the Technology Deployment Student0 will have the opportunity to collaborate with various departments within the hospital, including IT, administration, and medical staff. This will provide them with valuable exposure to different areas of the healthcare industry and an opportunity to develop their problem-solving and communication skills.
Overall, this role presents an excellent opportunity for a motivated and technically inclined student to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic healthcare environment. Through their contributions, the Technology Deployment Student will play a crucial part in ensuring that the hospital's technology infrastructure is up-to-date and aligned with the needs of medical professionals and patients alike.

Required

/Preferred:
• Community College Education (1-2 years completed) in Computer Sciences or Information Systems.
• Experience with Customer service (interpersonal interaction), the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in a logical, organized fashion, orally and in writing.
• Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking (ping, FTP, Telnet, SMTP and DNS) and its implementation on Windows 2000 (or higher).
• Basic knowledge of principles and techniques for a wide variety of microcomputer software applications, including spreadsheets, word processing, presentation graphics, desktop publishing, and e-mail/calendar.
• Organizing application testing within a test lab environment.
• Tracking and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
• Ability to follow help-desk scripts or break fix scripts.
• Must be highly motivated and proactive.
• Reliable transportation required.

Duties

• Research desktop deployment and configuration and application support through reading, internet, vendor discussions and other means to remain current in technology and practical use in health care settings.
• Regular update and maintenance of desktop devices (hardware, software, operating systems) to support ongoing system update and hardware evergreen program.
• Involvement in strategic projects that require changes to device or software installation or basic user training.
• Deployment of technology to the clinical environment.
• Other tasks as assigned by manager.
