Flexibility is the name of the game with 7.5-hour shifts starting at 7, 7:30, 8, or 9 am. (Weekend shifts are scheduled between 8am-4pm) Attention to detail is key, as each day brings new lessons in the ever-evolving world of pharmacy. Required

• Must be registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists as a Pharmacy Technician, or as a Pharmacy Technician Applicant. For Pharmacy Technician Applicants, registration as a Pharmacy Technician must be completed within six months of hire.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Capable of coping with a physically demanding workload (Physical Demands Analysis available to review.)

Duties

• Drug distribution to all clinical areas of our four hospitals, including, but not limited to, dispensing patient specific orders, stocking automated dispensing cabinets, and verifying accuracy as part of “tech-check-tech”
• Drug repackaging
• Sterile compounding, including, but not limited to, parenteral nutrition, CADD cassettes, and antibiotic syringes
• Non-sterile compounding
• Maintenance of perpetual drug inventory
• Maintenance of crash cart inventory
• Entry of physician’s/prescriber’s orders in to Meditech’s pharmacy module
• Generating BPMH from patient interview and other information sources, and reconciling against admission orders
• Recording workload
• Other duties as assigned
