Our client has an international and diversified client base which is supported by their sales teams based in Montreal and Edmonton.POSITION SUMMARY:In this role, your primary responsibility is to develop, design, and provide cost estimates for technical solutions in response to customer inquiries. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including sales, engineering, manufacturing, and R&D. A robust engineering and manufacturing background in the fluid power industry is essential for success in this position. Proficiency in computer applications, particularly SOLIDWORKS CAD software, is a prerequisite.Our client is seeking an individual who is proactive, possesses strong leadership skills, and thrives in a collaborative team environment. RESPONSIBILITIES:Sales and customer technical support:o Work closely with the sales team to understand customers requirements and inquiries and determine the ideal technical solution using existing technology and the company’s existing product lineo Develop, design solutions and provide costing.o Clearly communicate technical concepts and solutions to both internal teams and clients.o Offer after-sales technical support to customers.o Offer technical support to all departments (sales, engineering, manufacturing, R&D)o Assist in product documentation when necessary (Instruction & maintenance manual, hydraulic/pneumatic/electrical schematics, 3D product drawings) o Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to provide cutting-edge solutions.o Collaborate with marketing and provide details on new technical solutions. o Provide hands-on project management and testing when required.o Develop and promote best practice standards.o Develop tools to enhance work efficiency.REQUIREMENTS:o Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering o 3-5 years of previous design experience in the fluid power industry within a manufacturing environmento Possess a robust understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic automation systems (component sizing & selection, system schematics & layouts)o Strong problem-solving skills to address complex client challenges.o Familiarity with industry standards and best practices.o Perform engineering calculations to validate design.o 3D solid modeling with SolidWorks, is a musto Creation and maintenance of engineering models and Bills of Materialso Good knowledge of Windows 10+ environment, Office 365 and common applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlooko Ability to learn product information quickly.o Excellent written and oral communication skills, French and EnglishNOTE: Excellent written and oral communications are required for this role, as you will need to communicate with internal and external clients in Western Canada on a regular basis.
