POSITION SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for a Director of R&D to drive their product leadership strategy to innovate natural personal care and provide quality formulation to grow their raving fans. As the Director of R&D, your role will include strategic planning, research of new formats and ingredients, supporting formulation work, troubleshooting and kind & effective management of a growing multi-talented team.

RESPONSIBILITIES
● Lead innovation of new natural personal care products. Products include skin care, bath and body products, shampoos, conditioners, and more.
● Collaborate closely with marketing on conceptual development.
● Research innovative raw materials and products and attend natural industry conferences. Stay on top of
trends.
● Research and strategize trends to evolve our product leadership initiatives to meet our brand objectives.
● Design and develop robust processes and procedures that support the product development flow from the
lab to scale up production that optimize manufacturing procedures.
● Technical and regulatory expertise in GMP and NHP to ensure products are safe, troubleshooting, meet regulatory requirements, and support product information requirements to sales teams.
● Lead the professional development and health & happiness of the product development team and be an active, engaged member of our senior leadership team.

QUALIFICATIONS:
● Master of Science degree in Chemistry, with at least 8 years cosmetic formulation experience.
● Strong technical and practical knowledge of raw materials, emulsions and soap making is an asset.
● Hands on experience and knowledge of analytical instruments and test methods for conducting chemical and physical testing of cosmetic applications.
● Strong interpersonal, and verbal/ written communication skills, able to work independently or a part of an integrated project team.
● A self- motivated individual, organized, detail oriented who can multitask, and meet dynamic timelines.
● Have led or been an integral part of a team that builds strategic direction.
