The incumbant will be part of the Global Enterprise Services (GES), responsible for the delivery of TMX operations, technology, transaction services and procurement and plays a crucial role in enabling TMX to achieve our vision of being a technology-driven solutions provider that puts clients first. The key current and ongoing GES initiative is to evolve these functions into an integrated, efficient, effective and client-focused support organization for all of TMX.

The Test Analyst carries out the different activities related to software quality control, including scheduling and conducting functional and user acceptance tests.

Key Accountabilities:

Responsible for scheduling, controlling and conducting software tests as well as preparing the documentation related to these tests. The Test Analyst also provides support to other analysts during testing.

Prepares test plans, scripts and reports, as well as any other document required in his or her sector.

Develops, programs, performs and validates software test scripts using various test automation tools.

Helps develop and improve test automation.

Complies with the different software quality control procedures and standards to which the Bourse adheres.

Tracks the various projects assigned to him or her.

Applies the Bourse’s policies, processes and procedures.

Recommends procedures to his or her supervisor to improve necessary operations, systems and programs in order to ensure that the Bourse achieves its service quality objectives, participates in their development and applies implementation procedures.

Helps develop and maintain harmonious relations with partners.

If needed, takes part in various committees in his or her sector.

Carries out any other related task assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Must Have Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science
• Minimum of one year of experience in the software quality control field or software development in a transaction-driven environment, or as a business or computer analyst in the financial sector.
• Bilingual, French and English (spoken and written)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
• Attention to detail, strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Desire to learn and understand the business of derivatives trading
• Sense of initiative
• Good judgement


ASSETS

- Familiarity with automation tools (ALM or other)
- Knowledge of or experience in using Unix operating systems
- Canadian Securities Course
- Knowledge of trading software
