As the Supervisor of Security Operations you report to the Manager, Operations. You are supported by a team of approximately 14 armed Security Officers. The mandate of Security Operations is to safeguard the assets (personnel, information, valuables and property) of the organization and to provide a safe and secure work environment at the Bank of Canada Agency Operations Centre. As the Supervisor of Security Operations you ensure the effective delivery of activities within a specialized area of Security Services.

a minimum of five years full-time experience as a security professional, police officer or military police officer or equivalent.or a minimum of seven years of full-time work experience in security or protective services operations as a security professional. a minimum of three years full-time supervisory experience in the security field.in addition: English is essential excellent interpersonal skills and tact in dealing with personnel at various levels within the Bank and with the public ability to be fair, consistent and impartial in their approach to managing security staff ability to coach and obtain co-operation from others to achieve common goals, with well-developed leadership skills strong communication skills, both oral and written experience with all facets of a physical, personnel and information security program experience with continuous operations and building of schedules for continuous operations ability to operate effectively under stress during emergency situations knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada (sections pertaining to the use of force and the powers of arrest) ability to respect confidentiality of information ability to exercise sound judgment
functional in second official language post-secondary degree or diploma in criminology, law, psychology, sociology or in a relevant field
Condition of employment: Candidate must be eligible for secret clearance. Priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents. On-call and overtime work may be required. Successful candidates must undergo a medical evaluation and obtain a Law Enforcement Interpretative Report.
