The purpose of the Currency Production and Services Team is to meet public demand for new bank notes of acceptable quality in a cost-effective and timely manner. This is achieved by managing the supply chain efficiently from forecasting the bank note demand; negotiating cost-effective agreements with the substrate supplier, printer, single note inspection service provider and transportation carriers; and by ensuring that new notes conform to the Bank's specifications and quality standards.Under the general direction of the Quality Assessment Lab Manager, the Mutilated Notes Team Leader provides coaching and guidance, including professional development and leadership, to the Mutilated Notes Team members to ensure that all activities related to the Mutilated Notes Teams objectives and goals are accomplished effectively and efficiently.The Mutilated Notes Team Leader establishes and monitors/measures team and individual performance standards, and ensures that Mutilated Notes service levels are maintained.The Mutilated Notes Team Leader also ensures that the Banks assets are appropriately safeguarded and accounted for.The Mutilated Notes Team Leader develops and maintains effective relationships with internal and external clients/stakeholders and fellow team members.
coach and provide training and guidance to the Mutilated Notes Inspectors on testing protocols and procedures related to Mutilated Notes services assign tasks and responsibilities to the Custodian/Safekeeping and Operations Coordinator to support the single note inspection back-office support and asset management provide support and guidance to team members to resolve issues, focus their efforts, assist in their professional development and enable employees to optimize their contribution establish and monitor/measure team and individual performance standards instill a strong sense of accountability and persistence among team members to achieve a high level of service and productivity ensure that the Banks assets are appropriately safeguarded and accounted for ensure compliance with health and safety standards carry out the more complex project/work activities, and resolve issues in the team to ensure that the Mutilated Notes service levels are maintained; ensure the classification and integrity of the data monitor and review the teams activities and results to ensure that established plans, work schedules and quality standards are respected collaborate/work with the Banks Executive and Legal Services on the Mutilated Notes claims, and with law enforcement for bank note investigations (bank note authentication, serial number search, etc.) ensure that Bank policy related to mutilated notes is adhered to
bachelors degree in business administration or a similar field with a minimum of two years of work experience as a supervisor or manager, preferably in an operations environmentor an equivalent combination of education and experience may be consideredin addition: English and French essential linguistic requirement: functional in second official language (training may be provided to help the selected candidate reach the required level of fully functional) good relationship management skills, such as the ability to influence, negotiate, respect and interact well with others ability to demonstrate facilitation and judgment skills in assisting the team to maintain and enhance productivity and service levels demonstrated organizational skills (i.e., ability to plan, organize and achieve desired results, within the required time frame) ability to work independently with a minimal amount of supervision ability to manage resources to ensure that team objectives are achieved ability to prepare clear and concise reports on variances in production levels or to strategize on a particular course of action demonstrated research, analytical and problem-solving skills ability to make sound decisions and present persuasive arguments
