The North Bay Police Service is accepting applications for a full time experienced Police Officer.
Applicants must have obtained a Basic Constable Training diploma from the Ontario Police College
(OPC), the Royal Canadian Mounted Police or be willing to complete and pass the equivalency exam at the Ontario Police College if your Constable training is from outside the Province of Ontario. 

Requirements:

In addition to possessing a diploma from OPC or its equivalent, applicants must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada;
  • Have a valid Class G Driver’s license with no more than 6 demerit points;
  • Have a valid Standard First Aid and CPR level “C” certificate;
  • Have successfully completed the police constable probationary period at a recognized Canadian police service;
  • Be of good moral character and habits and do not have any current charges pending before the courts;
  • Be a member in good standing with their current Police Service and not currently be the subject of any disciplinary proceedings or any internal or external complaint/investigative proceedings;
  • Have strong communication skills and the ability to articulate clearly both written and verbally
  • Successfully pass a medical examination;
  • Successfully pass a psychological evaluation;
  • Pass a thorough background investigation; and
  • Successfully meet the requirements of either the PREP, or the Ontario Police Fitness PinAward (OPFA).

The North Bay Police Service recognizes the years of previous service with a Canadian Police Service for annual vacation entitlement. Rank classification will be dependent upon the experience of the applicant and will commence no higher than first class constable.
