Reporting to the Business Travel Management Office (BTMO) Lead, the Corporate Travel Specialist will assist in the continuous improvement of the Bank’s travel management processes in support of its mandate, and will provide tactical support in the day-to-day operations of the unit. The specialist will liaise with the Travel Management Company and with Bank staff and will be responsible for preparing applicable Travel Expenses reports for publication on the external Bank of Canada web site. The position requires strong organizational, coordinator and communication skills, knowledge of the travel industry as well as analytical abilities to identify and recommend areas of improvement for consideration by the BTMO Lead.
As a Corporate Travel Specialist, you will provide guidance to Bank travelers and travel arrangers using services provided from the Travel Management Company. You will prepare applicable travel expense reports and oversee the process for publication on the external Bank of Canada website. You will also contribute to the analysis of travel reports to help identify trends to the BTMO Lead regarding the Bank Travel Program. You will be responsible for collaborating with executive assistants and external travel agents to facilitate travel related requests for Bank executives. You will support the business travel training and awareness program by providing topic recommendations, preparing training material and scheduling training sessions. With the direction of the BTMO Lead, you will support the policy compliance monitoring and reporting by conducting sample audits of expense claims and preparing a summary report of findings, including recommendations. You will support the development of the compliance reports and provide recommendations on Travel and Hospitality Policies improvements. You will review, analyze and distribute reports to Bank management. You will also coordinate Blanket Travel Authority forms and assist Bank staff with the completion of the forms. You will provide support to the Business Travel Stakeholder Group.

As a Corporate Travel Specialist, you are a self-starter and team player. You have strong analytical skills and superior attention to detail and accuracy. You have excellent communication and organizational skills. You are proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.Language requirement: English and French essential (bilingual) with a minimum starting level of functional in second official language. Training may be provided to help the selected candidate reach the required level of fully functional in second official language.
