About the position

Within the Human Resources Department, the Client Service Representative (CSR) works collaboratively with other CSRs in the Human Resources Centre (HRC) team. The HRC business line is a one-stop shop for past and present employees to receive information pertaining to payroll, pension, benefits and other HR-related activities.

Your future responsibilities

In this position, you have the opportunity to apply your knowledge of human resources concepts and become proficient in the administration of our HR programs, policies and business processes. Your daily activities include responding to inquiries from internal and external clients, via email and the HR Call Centre phone lines. You also process all types of HR transactions related to an employee’s working life and are responsible for transaction management.

Your education and experience

• post-secondary education in a related field (such as human resources or business administration) and a minimum of two years of related professional work experience (such as at a call centre, or in human resources or business administration)


• an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Your knowledge and skills

• experience working with technical applications such as SAP/Success Factors or other HRIS
• ability to respect confidentiality of information and exercise sound judgment
• ability to multi-task and maintain accuracy and attention to detail, even as priorities change and urgencies intervene
• effective communicator; demonstrated ability to communicate by phone in both official languages, actively listening to client questions and concerns and responding in a client-focused manner
• general human resources knowledge acquired through education, training and/or experience
• ability to work independently and in a team environment where mutual support is essential
• strong interpersonal and communication skills, including a facility to work and interact with individuals at all levels
• Language requirement: English and French essential (bilingual) with a minimum starting level of fully functional in second official language.

• knowledge of HR applications such as Case Management tool
• Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation

• Starting salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $57,120 to $66,640 (job grade 13)
• Depending on performance, you may be eligible for performance pay for successfully meeting (3 to 5% of your base salary) or for exceeding expectations (7% of your base salary). Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.

• Extra vacation days (up to five each year) that you can purchase to add to your vacation entitlement
• Option to join the indexed, defined-benefit pension plan after 24 consecutive months of service
