Aperçu du poste :

This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual with technical expertise in handling multi line complex claims through all distribution channels – RSA & JI. This position consists of managing and supporting a team of examiners within Head Office Claims. This includes, coaching staff in developing effective case strategies to proactively resolve issues and control costs.
The types of losses will mostly focus on First Party Property generally over $500,000 and may include, but is not limited to, commercial and personal property.
In this role you will also manage a caseload of approximately 20 to 40 claims.

Vos objectifs pour ce poste

• Manage a team of claim handlers to ensure results produced meet team, department, corporate, Provincial and regulatory standards and goals; provide regular feedback to leadership on results.
• Direct, control and review work quality and quantity to ensure the claims team regularly applies established standards, produces accurate and timely work products and effectively handles workloads.
• Provide input and assist leadership in planning and evaluating strategies, gathering and analysing data, preparation of reports and identification and implementation of department goals
• Establish and communicate clear performance objectives, evaluate work product and progress toward objectives, coach proactively, complete file quality reviews and write performance evaluations based on corporate standards.
• Lead and actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and ensures utilisation of tools and behaviours to foster critical thinking and innovation around problem solving and development of standard work.
• The ability to independently build and maintain internal and external customer relationships by providing Easy, Efficient and Exceptional service to brokers, customers and colleagues.
• Work with underwriting and loss prevention to identify potential risks, hazards and trends.
• Use data analytics to monitor claim performance indicators, inventory management, financial and quality compliance, and claim volume trends and results – i.e. productivity and cycle times.
• Completion of monthly open & closed file reviews.
• Manage claim expense, reserve adequacy and indemnity payments.
• Lead and participate in committees or special projects as directed
• Take on ad hoc assignments and distributes to team based on department driven need

Ce que vous apportez à ce poste

• Technical expertise acquired through a minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience, or direct handling of large and/or complex property claims, with energy, construction and equipment breakdown experience an asset.
• Extensive experience in handling business interruption and other time element claims.
• Strong negotiation, project management and problem solving skills.
• Knowledge of reinsurance an asset.
• Ability to analyze claim statistical data.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with and motivate others.
• Exceptional organization and time management skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Undergraduate degree and CIP designation ideal.
Special Requirements
• Travel to other offices or locations may be required.
• Additional hours may be required during busy periods – i.e. Catastrophes.
