A leader in this role, the successful candidate must be able to grasp the needs of the business and match them with the skills and capabilities required to take the organization to the next level.Working within a COE, HRBP working model, the Director, Talent Acquisition will provide expertise for full-cycle recruitment strategies, guidelines and procedures concerning staffing best practices, systems, and methodology, and maintain up to date knowledge of recruiting issues and trends.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:• Responsible for developing and refining OMERS recruitment strategy and staffing plans to attract and retain the leadership and other talent needed to support OMERS growth plans• Partner with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and hiring managers to identify talent needs, development/update scope of job descriptions, hiring specifications, qualifications and skills• Coordinate retention strategies and employee recognition programs that are in line with employee engagement initiatives• Implement OMERS enterprise wide strategic staffing strategy, to align workforce planning, succession management, diversity and inclusion initiatives with business strategies and metrics• Lead key initiatives and programs to enhance talent acquisition objectives, such as ongoing on-boarding program, branding and employee value proposition (EVP), employee referrals, including collaboration with HR Business Partners and marketing resources to develop and maintain the EVP and employer brand• Designs, implements and supports talent management strategies, policies and processes for assessment and development of technical, managerial and executive talent across the organization, including effective tools for assessing fit for role• Implement and support online recruitment strategies and social media plans/platforms to increase reach and appeal of OMERS enterprise wide image• Establish OMERS wide diversity sourcing strategy that maximizes business partner relations and provides candidates sourcing recommendations to build pipeline of qualified minority, female and other applicants resulting in increased staffing, promotion, and development of women, minorities and other areas of diversity across all levels of OMERS enterprise• Develops strategies, process and policies to ensure alignment of talent strategies to OMERS culture and core values• Develop reporting statistics to track various data elements with a view to improve recruitment strategies where required, and to provide valuable market research feedback to managers on the competitive landscape• Manage vendor relationships and develop agreements for recruiting and outsourcing requirements, in coordination with HR groups globally; negotiate service level agreements and other contracts (i.e. Recruitment Agencies) and manage relationships with vendors and agencies • Develop and manage on-campus and off-site recruitment programs including job fairs and trade shows• Ensure all internal controls, compliance and regulatory guidelines are met• Accountable for managing the recruitment budget
• More than 10 years work experience (with a minimum 5 years in corporate recruitment) with a strong business acumen• Undergraduate degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, or a related field. CHRP designation an asset• Proven track record of success in implementation/transformation of a recruitment function and an effective change leader• Demonstrated strategic focus with expertise at linking short and long term business needs to overall talent acquisition strategy; • Thorough knowledge of the internet and social media from a recruitment strategy perspective• Understanding of the candidate sourcing market and the global and local market influences• At least 3 years experience coaching, mentoring and managing staff as well as demonstrated thought, results and people leadership skills• Excellent interpersonal skills , detail oriented, well organized, high energy, results-driven and client focused• Well developed business acumen and ability to see the overall picture• Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (experience with Njoyn ATS systems an asset)• Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal• Ability to travel within Canada, U.S. and Europe
