The ideal candidate will conduct marketing activities for Yorkdale Shopping Centre focused on the tourism market. The candidate will manage, create and report on the tourism industry based on Yorkdale’s key findings from its market research.
Tourism Marketing: Develop comprehensive marketing strategies aimed at increasing leisure travel to the area through coordination of, participation in and evaluation of consumer travel shows, innovative marketing partnerships and other outreach where appropriate. - Development of new/innovative marketing strategies- Package development and sales- Increase of inquiries from non-advertising sources- On-line/digital asset updatesTravel Trade Relations: Build leisure travel business through development and implementation of travel trade marketing programs.- Reports of travel trade contacts- Marketing programs developed with Tourism Toronto- Increase in travel trade activityAdvertising: Develop, implement and evaluate annual advertising plans aimed at increasing leisure travel to Yorkdale Shopping Centre.- Thoroughness of new advertising plans- Media buys and subsequent report of savingsReport and Research: Prepare monthly report on ad negotiations and placements, basic inquiry data and creative initiatives as well as activities of Tourism Toronto.
Post-Secondary education/University degree with Major in Tourism/Marketing/Communication or related disciplineMinimum 5 years’ experience in Tourism, Hospitality Sales, Marketing or Public RelationsPrevious Shopping Centre/Promotion of Tourism/Marketing experience preferredExcellent comprehension and ease with Microsoft applications, specifically Power Point and ExcelProfessional and timely written and verbal communication skillsStrong interpersonal skillsAdaptability and problem solving skillsDemonstrated skills in planning, organization and effective communication are essential
