To support these efforts, Xplornet is recruiting a Retail Manager in Brandon who share our passion for delivering truly great customer service. The inspiration begins with you. As part of our team, you’ll help to build a network of like-minded colleagues, customers and teams and provide the best solutions for our customers by drawing on your first-hand expertise and experiences.

As a Retail Manager you will apply your knowledge of cellphone technology to helping customers make informed decisions about everything they need and need to know in order to stay connected. You will be responsible for achieving the key metrics for your store location by effective management of all functions. This is accomplished through ensuring optimal customer experiences, maximizing sales, expense and cost management, store presentation and protection of company assets. The incumbent is an ambassador of the benefits and current trends in cellphone technology, function and fashion while driving continual growth of business and development of people, leveraging best practices and leading by example.

Key responsibilities include:

• As a leader of the customer experience you look to develop relationships with customers
and provide mentorship and coaching to your team to ensure the same.
• Work with retail sales associates to increase overall store profitability, and exceeding set
company goals in each category.
• Ability to build a daily game plan for the store and review daily results to ensure store is
meeting or exceeding all financial and customer expectations.
• Responsible to deliver sales and shrink targets through team education, enforcement of
loss prevention, audit standards and inventory control.
• Demonstrate compliance to visual standards, store maintenance and pricing standards.
• Ensures processes and systems are followed by the team.
• Create and / or monitor the creation of efficient store weekly scheduling.
• Continually motivate team and performance through recognition programs, store
contests, and customer compliments.
• Proven ability to coach, mentor and develop team through setting expectations,
communication, coaching, feedback and ongoing support
• Create development plans and conduct annual appraisals for team
• Communicates in a clear and concise manner, leading effective huddles / meetings /
coaching sessions, keeping the team up to date and well informed of pertinent
information
• Completes and holds team accountable to complete required training within timeframes
• Develops and leads recruiting and hiring strategy for store.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Demonstrated ability to motivate and manage staff
• Exceptional interpersonal, and verbal communication skills
• Strong time management skills with an attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and drive decisions/results is a
must
• Professionalism and tact in representing the company to our customers (both internal
and external)
• A working knowledge of MS Office (in particular Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Agility - Multi-tasking comes naturally and the ability to shift smoothly between and
amongst many different projects and initiatives
• Comfortable working within a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Strong customer service orientation
• Prior retail experience in a customer focused environment is desirable (min. 5 years)
• Ability to work on a team.
• Post-secondary education in a related field combined with 5+ years of relevant retail
supervisory experience
• Demonstrated experience in coaching and training team members
• Genuine interest in cellphone technology a definite asset
