Scope:

The Enterprise Total Rewards team supports OMERS global talent agenda by managing the development, implementation, and management of total rewards programs and policies. OMERS focus is on delivering market competitive risk adjusted compensation that rewards for performance and differentiates across markets. Plans are designed to be simple and align to business objectives to attract, engage, reward and retain employees, especially those who are the highest potential and highest performing.

Reporting to the Vice President, Enterprise Total Rewards, the Analyst is accountable for providing value add support to the Enterprise Total Rewards team through analysis, research and the development of tools and presentations supporting compensation design, pension, benefits, and recognition, and compensation advisory.

Responsibilities:

Provide value add support such as conducting detailed analysis on all new compensation design programs enterprise-wide.
Provide support on Pensions and Benefits in research, analysis and coordination to harmonize benefit programs across the OMERS Enterprise.
In partnership with colleagues, HR Business Partners and the business, support the development and communication of training materials focused on new compensation programs, new benefit programs, new recognition initiatives as well as other special projects.
In partnership with Total Rewards colleagues, develop (and/or support development of) value-add compensation tools and templates for both end users and the Human Resources team, to ensure efficient and effective compensation processes.
Support research and analysis on competitive market positioning and trend reporting for HR colleagues, businesses and Board. As appropriate, make recommendations where data suggests opportunities for continuous improvement exists.

Qualifications:

University Degree in a related discipline.
Advanced knowledge and specialized experience in compensation principles, programs, processes and best practices with a minimum of 2-5 years experience in compensation. A Certified Compensation Professional designation would be an asset.
Strong team player with a demonstrated business focus.
Ability to work with highly confidential information with strong judgment, professionalism and tact.
Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, with the ability to break down complex problems and simplify for communication.
Strong MS office skills, ability to prepare effective presentations.
Excellent time and project management skills with proven organizational and multi-tasking proficiency.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of investment industry/business a definite asset.
Consulting experience is an asset.
