General upkeep and maintenance of the building - minor carpet repairs, wall patching, flooring and wall tile repair, door repairs (hinges, pivots, door handles, door closures), maintenance shop supplies and tool inventory, maintenance shop and vacant space cleanliness.
Tenant comfort and response, tenant assistance, general customer service.
Occupational Health and Safety - job hazard assessment, training within safety policy (Genie lift, ACM, WHMIS, first aid, emergency response procedures), assistance to co-workers where safety code requires, emergency response procedures.
Daily inspections for lights - knowledge of base building and specialty lighting, light runs, outlet testing, resetting breakers, identify ballast and fixture problems.
Daily inspections for washrooms - plumbing (snaking lines, fixture replacement, shutoff valve repair, vacuum breakers replacement, flush valves repair and install), washroom stall and hardware repairs.
Angus - complete assigned work orders daily, weekly, monthly for preventative maintenance program.
Special events - set up and take down for marketing and specialty leasing.
Assisting mechanical maintenance - changing filter rolls and bags after hours, assisting with fan coil cleanouts, assist with building shutdowns (i.e. electrical or water), providing general assistance to the building operator as required.
High School Diploma
1-3 years of work related experience
General handyman skills, experience with hand tools and power tools, knowledgeable on Occupational Health and Safety codes and requirements.
