The Security Supervisor will oversee all building access control and associated systems and procedures. The Security Supervisor will administer the Emergency Response Plan(s) for the complex and will ensure that associated training of Staff, Contractors and Tenants including fire warden training is provided in respect to these plans in line with agreed company and legal requirements. The Security Supervisor will also be responsible for the preparation of monthly building specific security reports, invoice checking, KPI data gathering, contract guard selection and training, tenant relations in regard to security matters, minor crime and incident related investigations and the maintenance and review of security related documentation including Site Post Orders and Occurrence Reports. To supervise the security and control room activities on site, including the supervision of a team of external security staff.
Fire Warden ProgramManage fire & life safety programs ensuring applicable legislative, industry and company standards are maintained by training Oxford and contract staff Deliver Fire Warden training to Oxford staff, contractors and tenants Ensure Fire Warden manuals and videos are up to date and meet applicable legislative, industry and company standardsMaintain Fire Warden supplies Emergency Response / Management ProgramEnsure the Emergency Response Program is relevant and meets company standardsEnsure that first responder directions for specified incidents are document according to company standards Security Incident, Audits and Reporting Ensure all security personnel are entered into OxPort and the OSIR documentation is addressed, completed and closed in a timely manner.Collaborate with the Security Manager on responding and investigating all sensitive tenant related security concerns Fire Alarm SystemEnsure all contract security staff are familiar with the operation of the system Ensure daily/ weekly/ monthly tests are conducted at site levelRelationship ManagementBuild and maintain relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders. Security Administration and ReportingIssue purchase orders in order to obtain goods and services needed to meet the security related expectations of the landlord and tenants Complete building security audits aligned with local and national expectationsIn conjunction with the Security Manager complete the Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (“CEPTED”) In conjunction with the Security Manager complete Task Inventory Assessments Complete TRAC documentation associated with tenant visitsEnsure all in house and contract personnel training records and licenses are up to date Ensure the Access Control and CCTV systems are maintained and operated appropriately Work with SM when requested to investigate all sensitive tenant related security concerns
5-7 years security field experience.Post-secondary education preferred. Enrolment in or completion of Certified Security Supervisor “CSS” designation or Certified in Security Supervision & Management “CSSM” designation would be preferred.Must have a loss prevention license or an investigator license issued by the Province of Alberta. If not in procession of the investigator license must be willing to complete/ obtain the qualifications to gain the license.Proficiency MS Office Suites.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Must work well under pressure, with the ability to simultaneously work on various priorities, and promote an extreme level of excellence and pride in customer service.Have or working towards a Certificate Security Management or a PSP designation. Excellent interpersonal and communication skillsDetailed knowledge of access control and CCTV systemMust feel comfortable presenting to groups of up to 65 people.
